Project Manager

We are recruiting for a Project Manager for a maternity leave (12 months) role within the Charity Sector supporting service users that are Homeless or at Risk of Homelessness. 

 

The Project Manager role is critical to the development, delivery and overall success of the RSUN project. With the post holder due to go off on maternity leave for a 12-month period we require a temporary full time maternity cover. The temporary manager will lead a small team comprising the Services Co-ordinator and Peer mentor and report directly to the Homeless Connect Chief Executive.

 

Job Purpose: To successfully manage the Regional Service Users Network (RSUN) project and the implementation of its action plans.

 

Key tasks and responsibilities:

Management

  1. Manage the RSUN project ensuring effective planning and implementation.
  2. Contribute to the budget setting process and assist with budget monitoring in conjunction with the CEO and Head of Business Services.
  3. Administer the petty cash system according to set procedures.
  4. Monitor project activities and impact and produce regular reports to funders and management.
  5. Contribute to fundraising applications.
  6. Lead and support a team of staff and volunteers including line management, supervision and training & development.
  7. Assist and contribute to recruitment and selection of staff.
  8. Ensure that all health & safety and security procedures are followed for project staff, volunteers and service users.
  9. Adhere to all compliance and confidentiality policies, ensuring legislative requirements are met.
  10. Assist with the identification and mitigation of project risks.

 

Criteria

  • A degree or equivalent third level qualification in a relevant subject and 
  • At least 2 years' experience of working with service users / people with lived experience of homelessness and/or substance misuse 

Or 

At least 2 years' experience of working with service users / people with lived experience of homelessness and/or substance misuse 

 

Plus

  • Knowledge and understanding of the importance and value of service user involvement.
  • Confidence and motivation to drive the service user agenda forward at both a strategic and operational level.
  • Experience of supporting and motivating service users including the ability to listen effectively and support the needs of services users.
