Prospective Graduates 2019

New Graduates in 2019 - you should be starting to reflect and prepare for Graduate Recruitment.  The market is more competitive than ever and your first entry onto your career ladder is so important.  This blog discusses some top tips to help you stand out.

  1. Start Early

This one might seem a tad obvious but as you finalise placement, assignments or dissertations time can run away from you. Avoid unexpected delays by gathering information ahead of time. Access NI checks, Professional Registrations, Medical Histories and form filling can be time consuming. Remember students across all disciplines as well as Summer Schemes and Youth Organisations all recruit and apply during the same time period, so try and get ahead of the rush.

  1. Get Experience

Paid and/or Voluntary NHS or private sector experience will give you an advantage on your CV as well as valuable networking experience. It will also help you to find out what type of jobs you do and do not want to apply for. Talk to us about evening, weekend or casual work, alongside your studies. Remember to include any placement experience on your CV.

  1. Make use of Resources and Each Other

All of Keenan Healthcare vacancies are advertised on our social media platforms, feel free to browse back and contact us to ask questions about previous roles we have had through the agency. Talk to each other about your placements and your experiences. Get professional help from our Specialised Consultants with complimentary CV writing service.

  1. Social Media – Stay Visible/ Stay Safe

Prepare for digital networking by creating a professional profile and keep your personal profile private or clean. Make connections within your chosen field to signpost and mentor you. LinkedIn is a great tool for this. Be sure to add your Keenan Healthcare Consultant for marketplace updates and a steady flow of available contracts.

  1. Get Healthy – Financially and in Body & Mind, through Keenan Healthcare’s NEW  ‘Locum Health & Well-being Initiative’

We are NI’s first Agency to offer this service to temporary workers.

Take advantage of this free, confidential package offered to all Keenan Healthcare temporary workers. If you need help with your mortgage application, student loan, debt management or budgeting we will sign post you to appropriate, professional help. Through this initiative you will have access to nutrition and exercise blogs / vlogs constructed especially for Keenan Healthcare and plenty of other well-being plans.

Remember, you don’t have to do this alone, contact one of our consultants to guide you through the next steps T: 02890511480
