Senior Family Support Mentor

We are looking for a Senior Family Support Mentor to join our Charity Client as part of a wider family support team based in East Belfast.  You will provide practical and emotional support to your service users and provide positive behaviour role modelling and mentorship.  We require outgoing and engaged individuals to be advocates for their service users and empower the community.  Initial funding agreed to March 2022 with potential permanent opportunities. The Client is open to explore this opportunity as a Job Share. 
 

The role:

Community and Family Support Programme Senior Family Mentor is responsible for:

• Delivering family support elements of the Community Family Support Programme
• Designing and delivering needs-led programmes to develop family relations and communications as well as health and social inclusion programmes with demonstrative positive outcomes.
• Assisting CFSP co-ordinator to plan, implement and oversee delivery of CFSP

Key Areas:

• Family Support
• Programme Delivery
• Senior Mentor
• Communication and Information Management 

Criteria:

• NVQ Level 3 or Equivalent in Health & Social Care, Family Support, Youth Work, Education, Social Care, Adult Learning Support or similar 
• Experience of at least two years delivering a family programme or other relevant field, delivering interventions within health and social care directly with families on a one to one or group basis.
• A minimum of one years’ experience of managing & supervising staff/volunteers to ensure effective team working, high standards of practice and positive outcomes for clients.
• Demonstrable experience in undertaking assessments of needs of families
• Experience of working to and understanding Child Protection policy, procedures and legislation.
• Proven experience of carrying out home visits.
