Nurse Team Leader - Learning Disability Supported Living

Our Client supports individuals with mental ill health, autism, learning disabilities and dementia; providing innovative, professional, high quality support services to people across the spectrum of need and particularly at the higher level of complexity in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, England and the Isle of Man.

We are currently recruiting for full time, part time and bank nurses for our Client within Supported Living based in Birmingham.  

 

Each person we engage with will have a tailored care package to support their return to live within local communities in a Supported Living setting, with staff being involved with developing each Service User’s confidence and abilities to live as independently as possible. Services are close to each other with support from a local office base and we are growing across the city. Our expertise is in working with people with complex and multiple needs, there will be challenges on the way as outcomes are worked towards but we will be there for each person’s journey. The Client wants to make a real difference in people’s lives by creating opportunities and collaborating with other agencies to promote the best possible outcomes for everyone we engage with.

Job Purpose/Summary:
The Nurse - Team Leader is part of the support team whose function is to meet the practical, physical and emotional needs of service users within scheme. Through a key worker system, he/she will also be responsible for the designing of individual programmes of support and co-ordinating the delivery of the package by a group of Support Workers and him/herself.  As Team leader you will direct a team of support staff in the delivery of personal care needs to service users and you will ensure service users are enabled to fulfil a variety of activities and opportunities day to day.

 

Requirements of the Role

  • You will be required to participate in the company appraisal and staff review process
  • To adhere to and model the company values, behaviours and competencies at all times
  • To carry out all duties of the post in accordance with expectations, regulations and policies
  • To carry out additional duties of the role and all other required duties as and when necessary
  • To work the necessary hours to fit the needs of the scheme (this may include working early shifts, late shifts, evenings, weekends, nights and sleep-in night duties)
     

Criteria:

  • Professional qualification of First or Second Level Nursing, live on the NMC register
  • Learning Disability Experience
  • Experience of supervising junior staff
